Do you believe that spending 5 – 10 days in Greece close with a Greek who is learning your language and who shares the same interests as you will help you to improve your language skills?

If the answer is yes, then you are interested in this course: If you enroll then you will have the opportunity 1) to attend a private Greek language course (2 – 4 hours per day) with an experienced teacher in Ikaria and 2) to stay very close (at the Centre’s campus) with a Greek who will visit Ikaria in order to speak with you during “tandem meeting” in Greek and in your language.

The duration of the private language course is flexible: from 2 hours (minimum) up to 4 hours (maximum) per day for 1, 2 or more weeks. You may choose freely according to your needs and mood.

During your stay in Ikaria you’ll practice in the Greek language X 24 hours per day, with your Greek “tandem” and other students and Greeks who will make up our small multi-language group.

For local transport each group of students and Greeks (2 – 4 persons) will share a rented car at no additional cost (except the petrol). In this way students will have the opportunity to explore the unique natural environment of Ikaria, the beautiful beaches and the little villages where you can participate in the famous Ikarian “panigiri”.

Last but not least, the Centre organizes activities (cooking lessons, hiking, excursions etc). In this way we all have the opportunity to get to know each other better, to talk a lot and have a good time.

Notes:

• This course is for adults over 18 years of age. We may organize it for children, by special arrangement.
• You may choose if you would like to share your room with your Greek “tandem” or if you would like to reserve a private room.
• After your registration we need some days in order to find a person from Greece who would like to  v. If we cannot find an appropriate person there are two options: 1) we cancel the lesson or 2) you participate in the language lesson without a Greek “tandem” to speak with. However you may practise the Greek language with your Greek teachers, as they all stay in the Centre’s campus and you can speak with them even after the class or activities hours.

Fees (for the language lessons)

1 week course (2 hours* / day): 340€ | 2 week course: 680€
Every additional lesson hour*: 30€

For group reservation (2 – 6 students in the same class): 1 week (2 hours*/day) 290€/person | 2 week course: 580€/person
Every additional lesson hour*: 23€/person

Fees include: 2 hours* of lessons Χ 5 per week, accommodation (with roommate), course materials, use of a rental car (only the petrol is paid by the students).

A student may reserve a private room with an additional charge 85€/ week.
This cost is charged for accommodation of an individual student in a room or for a student with one more person who is not participating in the course.
